Hello Everyone!
Planning on posting pictures from my fun weekend with friends, as well as writing a longer post later on tonight. But I was wondering if all of you would be able to give me some tips on how to really get my blog going. How did you get more followers? Is commenting on other people's blogs the best way? Or are there other things that you did? Basically, I'm just looking for some pointers on how to navigate the blogging world. Any bit of advice you would like to share? Thank you for your help!

Lauren

My First Post!
Hi everyone! I started following blogs a few months ago, and figured it was time I start my own! They seem like a lot of fun, and I look forward to connecting with all of you. I'm not totally sure how to navigate this whole blogging world, so forgive me if I'm a little slow...I promise I'll learn! I I figured in my first post I would just tell you a little bit about myself:
-I am 18 years old
-I am a sophomore at Boston University, majoring in health science
-I want to become a nurse practitioner and since BU lacks a nursing program, I am currently looking into transferring.
-I'm from a small town in Connecticut
-My parents have been divorced since I was 4
-I have two older sisters, 26 & 28
-I have been dating my wonderful boyfriend, Alex since May 2010
-I LOVE my precious white boxer, Patch
-I am obsessed with anything floral
-Jewelry is something I love, especially earrings. My favorite piece of jewelry is a "sisters" ring my mom had made for all three of us that has all of our birthstones. I wear it everyday.
-I love to read, when I find the time! Some of my favorite authors are Emily Giffin, Jodi Piccoult, and Nicolas Sparks
-I couldn't live without music. I must admit that I tend to listen to whatever is most popular at the moment (which isn't the greatest out there, I know), but I also listen to different genres too.
-My favorite foods in the whole world are sushi and frozen yogurt...just found out that a PinkBerry is finally coming to CT near(ish) my house! Definitely put a smile on my face.
Well, I think that's enough to give you a general impression of who I am! Here is what I have been up to the last few weeks:
Other than spending time with friends and enjoying the beautiful summer sun, I've been working at my internship at a company called Ovation Benefits. They are a health benefits brokerage company that specialize in health improvement among companies. Although it doesn't have to do with nursing, it has given me a full understanding of the public health world, which definitely links to any type of medical profession. I have learned so much there this summer, and am so grateful I was given the opportunity to work there.
Two weekends ago, I went to visit one of my good friends from BU who also lives in CT. It was so great seeing her, and made me feel sad to even think about having to transfer schools. But if I'm serious about nursing, it makes no sense to stay at a school that doesn't offer my program...or so I try to convince myself.
This past weekend I puppy sat for my friend Patrick's family. His dog is about four months and very cute, but very energetic. It was tiring, but I was happy I could do them a favor. Here is picture of Franklin:
I also saw the movie Bad Teacher, but for the most part felt like the funniest parts of the movie were all shown in the preview. It did have a funny story line though, and it was fun seeing Cameron Diez play a different type of character than she regularly does. What did you think of the movie?
Well, that's all for my first post! I'm so excited to be a part of the blogging world. Bear with me while I learn my way around! Have a good night.

Lauren
